De VVN organiseert opnieuw een lezing. Deze keer neemt Mikko Nisula ons mee in de wereld van AI met “How to build a brain: An introduction to neuromorphic computing”.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made giant leaps forward thanks to Neural Networks that take inspiration from the human brain for data processing. But the current computer architecture is quite unlike that of the brain, which poses a huge problem for their performance. As the demands for AI are getting more and more complex, something has to change. In this talk we take a look into Neuromorphic Computing, where the traditional binary logic and CMOS transistors are replaced with the idea of using nanoscale devices and physics to directly emulate the functions of neurons and synapses; essentially constructing artificial brains.
